Jackie Thomas – President & Founder

Jackie Thomas is a strategic communication and public relations expert with two decades of experience across the optical, technology, public affairs, infrastructure, and non-profit sectors. Her notable accomplishments include establishing Anglotopia as the world’s largest anglophile website, providing crisis management for the Professional Convention Management Association during the early pandemic, and leading North American communications for a major global optical company. A Purdue University graduate with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communications, Jackie founded South Shore Public Relations in 2023, bringing her expertise to Northwest Indiana.

An active community member, Jackie serves on multiple boards, including the Public Relations Society of America Chicago Chapter, Michigan City Chamber of Commerce, and Dunebrook’s executive board. Her professional excellence has earned significant recognition, including being named a “Woman on the Rise” by Purdue Northwest’s Innovation Society in 2024, while South Shore PR was a finalist for Small Business of the Year by the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce. Jackie was nominated as Marketer of the Year by the Northwest Indiana Women’s Association in both 2024 and 2025.

Jonathan Thomas – Chief Digital Officer

Jonathan Thomas, our Chief Digital Officer, brings proven expertise in digital marketing and audience engagement as demonstrated by his success with Anglotopia.net, the world’s largest Anglophile website reaching 2 million annual visitors. He’s built substantial online communities across platforms, including 220,000 Facebook fans and 50,000 email subscribers, while providing strategic consulting for Blacknight, Ireland’s largest web host and domain registrar.

A published author of several British travel guides, including “101 London Travel Tips” and “Anglotopia’s Dictionary of British English,” Jonathan offers clients a comprehensive digital skill set spanning website development, hosting services, podcasting, and video production. His data-driven approach ensures all digital communications strategies deliver measurable results, maximizing our clients’ reach and impact in the digital landscape.

Marin Bruns

Digital Content and PR Coordinator

Marin Bruns is a creative strategist with a passion for storytelling. As our Digital Content and Public Relations Coordinator, Marin helps bring clients’ brands to life online. From crafting compelling digital content to building meaningful media relationships, she helps connect audiences, amplify messages, and ensure every story is engaging, authentic, and impactful across all platforms. Marin specializes in creating engaging digital content tailored for any social media platform, from graphics and copy to reels and campaigns. Her work ensures consistent messaging, strong audience connection, and a dynamic online presence across all channels.

Marin attended Indiana University, where she studied Media Advertising with a creative concentration. She has created and implemented countless strategic campaigns for clientele ranging from small businesses to non-profits. An active community member, Marin is also a part of the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals group, where she collaborates with peers to foster professional development, build valuable connections, and attend community events.

Alicia Nespo

PR Coordinator

Alicia Nespo is a Ball State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and Event Planning. She joins South Shore PR with a proactive mindset and a commitment to delivering clear, consistent, and impactful communications that align with organizational goals. Alicia’s work focuses on storytelling, digital content strategy, and community-focused communications. She genuinely believes every organization has a story worth telling – it just needs the right voice.
